Hello there!

My name is Owen Campbell, a home-grown member of the community who was raised on a cattle ranch in the Saddle Hills area.

From an early age, friends and family gravitated towards me for support and a listening ear, which cultivated in me a passion for helping others. This drove me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Calgary, where I graduated with distinction.

I moved back to Grande Prairie to be closer to family, enrolled in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology though Yorkville University and became a registered student member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.

As Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with Paramount Psychology, I am excited to help children, youth and adults gain understanding of, and find relief from, the negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that create distress.

I draw upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness theory, humanistic approaches, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and other frameworks to help my clients progress towards their goals.

As a parent who has learned to balance school, work, and family life, I understand how stress and worry can build up. I am here to support you in safe and non-judgmental space, as you journey forward to find better mental health.

My name is Kristina, and I am a Registered Psychologist with a passion for deeply seeing and understanding each person as an individual, while also considering the relationships, family, culture, and broader systems that shape their experiences. I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where children, teens, parents, and families can feel safe, understood, and genuinely themselves. I believe that you cannot hate yourself into a version of yourself you love, and that meaningful change begins with compassion, curiosity, and understanding.

Born and raised in Grande Prairie, I have a strong connection to the community and an appreciation for the unique experiences and challenges that can come with living in a smaller community. My experiences have also broadened my understanding of the significant role culture, relationships, and social environments play in mental health and well-being. My original goal when entering college was to become a social worker, driven by an interest in systemic change and the ways our larger social systems influence individuals and families. Over time, I came to understand that meaningful change can also begin within the family and community—when children and families have the safety, support, and tools they need to navigate life’s inevitable challenges.

My professional and volunteer experiences have allowed me to work with people across a variety of settings, including a local sexual assault and trauma agency, group homes, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and children’s gymnastics and summer programs. These experiences have helped shape my understanding of the many factors that influence development, behaviour, relationships, and mental health. At the heart of my work is the belief that behaviour is communication and curiosity creates understanding. Rather than simply asking, “How do we stop this behaviour?”, I want to understand, “What is this behaviour trying to tell us?” Behaviour often communicates needs, emotions, experiences, or difficulties that may not yet have words. Together, we can slow things down, look beneath the surface, make sense of what is happening, and develop healthier ways of coping, communicating, and connecting.

I work with children, teens, parents, and families experiencing a range of concerns, including big emotions, anxiety, behavioural changes, family conflict, transitions, and relationship challenges. With younger children, therapy may involve play and other age-appropriate approaches that allow them to communicate and process experiences in ways that feel natural to them. With teens, I provide space to explore identity, emotions, relationships, and the challenges of growing into themselves in this complex world. When appropriate, I also work closely with parents and caregivers to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and develop practical strategies that can support change beyond the therapy room.

Family therapy can be particularly helpful when communication has broken down, conflict has become repetitive, or family members feel disconnected. Whether navigating separation or divorce, blended-family challenges, mental health struggles, parenting differences, or major transitions, I help families understand patterns, increase empathy, communicate more effectively, and develop healthier ways of relating to one another.

Whether your young child needs additional support, you are a young person trying to better understand yourself, you are a parent feeling overwhelmed and looking for guidance, or your family is hoping to strengthen its relationships, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. My goal is to help you feel understood, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools for moving forward with greater confidence, connection, and compassion.

Hello, I’m Annette! I bring advanced clinical training, varied professional activities and many life experiences to the work I do. These experiences allow me to meet my clients with empathy, understanding, and genuine curiosity as I help them navigate life’s toughest chapters. I also weave in a healthy dose of humour to keep sessions grounded, authentic, and human. For over 9 years, I have provided a compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to share their story, explore life’s challenges, and build a clear plan forward. My experience spans private practice, psychiatric social work, addictions treatment, and equine-assisted therapy.

I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), am a Registered Social Worker (RSW), and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Counselling. My graduate training included more than 600 supervised clinical counselling hours and two intensive clinical residencies in the United States. I am currently completing my PhD in Psychology, with research focused on Indigenous Ways of Knowing and culturally informed approaches to wellness and healing.

At the foundation of my approach is the belief that every individual possesses inherent worth. I guide youth (12+), adults, and couples to explore the patterns, beliefs, and coping strategies that may be affecting their relationships, work, mood, or sense of self. Through practical psychoeducation and evidence-based approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), clients come to better understand how the brain responds to stress and adversity, recognizing that many behaviours began as survival strategies. Understanding these patterns is often the first step toward rewiring them and creating more flexible and empowered responses to life’s challenges.

My areas of practice include adolescent mental health, young adult transitions, men’s mental health, indigenous mental health and wellness, ADHD and neurodiversity, addiction and unhealthy coping patterns, trauma, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, and relationship concerns.

Hello and welcome!

My name is Kalua Rhody and I am the owner of Paramount Psychology and Counselling, where I provide therapy and clinical supervision services.

I have been a Registered Psychologist since 2008, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of supporting teens, adults and couples through many of life’s challenges and transitions.

From 2008 to 2015, I worked in the non-profit sector, providing trauma-informed therapy and crisis intervention to survivors of abuse while collaborating closely with community agencies to ensure comprehensive support. During this time, I also facilitated self-esteem and women’s support groups, co-created a life skills program to support addiction recovery, and delivered specialized training on sexual abuse and trauma-informed practice to professionals across Alberta.

I supervised nursing students during their mental health practicums, and co-presented at professional conferences—early experiences that deepened my passion for teaching, mentorship, and advancing best practices in mental health care. I also had the privilege of teaching an introductory psychology course at the local college, which deepened my interest in mentorship and planted the seed that I would one day provide supervision for those entering the field.

In 2012, I opened my private practice and in 2020 expanded it to Paramount Psychology & Counselling, a group practice where I continue to offer individual and couples therapy as well as clinical supervision.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and flexible—I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, positive psychology, attachment theory and neuroscience, and am passionate about mind-body strategies such as ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), EFT Tapping (Emotion Freedom Techniques) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I also integrate advanced couples’ therapy methods, including the Gottman Method, the Developmental Model, the Doherty Approach and Relational Life Therapy, always tailoring therapy to fit each client’s unique goals.

Among other outcomes, I help my clients learn how to: * Discover and release limiting beliefs or self-sabotaging patterns * Communicate effectively and resolve conflict for stronger, more fulfilling relationships * Manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm in healthier ways * Heal from trauma, abuse, and childhood wounds * Navigate grief, loss, and major life transitions * Let go of fears, anger, or sadness that keep depression entrenched * Build resilience, inner strength, and courage * Set boundaries and practice assertiveness * Achieve balance between work, relationships, and personal wellbeing * Cultivate self-compassion, self-forgiveness, and self-love

Alongside my clinical work, I provide supervision for counselling interns and provisional psychologists and consultation for colleagues. I view it as a collaborative process where emerging professionals can grow in confidence and skill while strengthening their ethical decision-making, case conceptualization, and self-reflection.

At the heart of all that I do is the belief that relationship is paramount. More important than any single technique is the quality of the relationship—whether in therapy or supervision. My intention is to ensure you feel deeply seen and understood, while gently inviting you to take meaningful steps toward the life and relationships you want.

Hello!

My name is Sabrina Reed. I am a Registered Psychologist with Paramount Psychology. I am originally from a small farming community in Southern Alberta and moved to Grande Prairie in 2022.

Growing up, my mother worked as a farmer while my father worked in the oilfield, so I personally know some of the unique challenges that stem from these lines of work. I have always had a passion for helping others, which led me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge, and later a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

My experience includes volunteering at various seniors’ centres, volunteering with children, and later working at a Women’s Shelter in Lethbridge, supporting women and their children fleeing domestic abuse. While working at the Women’s Shelter and completing my Master’s, I had the privilege of cofacilitating various groups on domestic abuse support, sex addiction, and spousal support for sex addiction.

While in Grande Prairie the past three years, I have had the privilege of counselling a variety of individuals, couples and children. I utilise an eclectic approach to counselling, drawing from Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Mindfulness. This allows me to better adapt my counselling approach to your individual needs and unique personality.

At times, I may challenge you, but it will always be from a place of warmth and compassion. I know that every coping strategy, even maladaptive ones, once served a purpose and protected us when we needed them the most.

I am happily accepting new clients, and I welcome the opportunity to work with adults, couples and youth ages 12 and older. I have experience working with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress and coping skills, relationship issues, and boundaries and communication skills, to name a few.

If you are considering counselling, I invite you to reach out. I would be honoured to work with you and support you on your journey.

Hello!

I’m a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Individual Mental Health. My clinical background is trauma-based with over 20 years of experience working with victims and perpetrators of both sexual and physical violence. During this time not only did I provide therapy to adults, couples, and youth, but I also presented numerous workshops and keynotes, and testified at the House of Commons in Ottawa on the topic of Domestic Violence in rural and remote communities.

I’m committed to best practices and have sought out specialized training in many areas. This includes being Gottman trained (all 3 levels), certification in EMDR, and extensive training in expressive play and sand play therapy as well as Somatic Resolution.

I believe that healing, getting unstuck, moving forward, or gaining new insight and perspective is a process that I’m privileged to be a part of. It’s an honour to have the opportunity to support clients through their journey. So, whether that’s big “T” trauma or little “t” trauma, grief and loss, or finding your best self, I’m here for you.
